Wednesday 1st December 2010, 10.00-16.00
Location: London, Venue TBC
This workshop will encourage engagement between the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and industry experts with an interest in developing and manufacturing clinically relevant diagnostic devices within the scope of the Detection & Identification of Infectious Agents (DIIA) Innovation Platform.
The Technology Strategy Board’s Innovation Platform, DIIA, aims to reduce the morbidity, mortality and economic burden of infectious diseases in humans and animals. The programme will see investment of up to £55 million over 5 years - up to £50 million from the Technology Strategy Board and up to £5 million from the Department of Health (DH).
DIIA is now looking to facilitate dialogue between the diagnostics industrial community and NICE with particular reference to the role of NICE in diagnostic system evaluation.
The workshop will also allow companies that are on track towards diagnostic system manufacture to engage early with NICE in an informal and supportive environment.
