If the Cambridge and London biotech organisations see the need to merge, where does that leave us? How do we make sure that we do not get swamped by the even bigger focus on the south east that will surely happen?
Geographically, it makes sense for them to get together. After all, you can travel between Cambridge and London faster than it takes to get from Dundee to Glasgow. We still need a local focus, to give people the opportunity to meet and to support each other. But we clearly need to look further afield to ensure that we are part of a strong network connecting with other networks. By engaging with these powerful groups on our community's behalf, our network organisations can make sure that our voice is still heard.
