I totally agree on the two points below. There is a piece of work underway with the GlobalScots on investment that I will be able to elaborate on at a later date...but we have worked with the SE investment directorate and also spoken with appropriate individuals in the investment/angel community. This is a pan-sector piece of work, but I'll let Sharon/Andrew in the SE team know if there are any LS standouts for investment.

As an aside, we have some great individuals who would be happy to provide investor readiness advice to Scottish companies. Happy to help.

Just back from the GlobalScot conference - a couple of big LS themes emerged that I think the Collaboration group could support:

(1) Venture Funding - in particular creation of a local VC fund (supported by GlobalScots) and addressing a gap in the market beyond angel funding

(2) Management skills beyond start up, especially the ability to 'go to market' ad being investor ready. I know this is the subject of another workstream but hey we are looking at collaboration!
