I have been receiving spam mails from my account: Any adivce as how to stop this? I may have to close my account

Hi Gillian,
Just to let you know that this spammer has had her account suspended.
At present our moderation involves a new member manually reconfirming their email address and filling out a Captcha. This certainly stops the robots, and non-human spammers but not the determined humans.
Spammers seems to be getting more determined these days - they must be bored :(
