The Telehealthcare Summit on the 6th May 2010 at the Centre for Health Science in Inverness will discuss the opportunities in this sector in Scotland. The presentations and workshops follow on from an event on the 5th of May where 50 leaders from the Scottish and international healthcare community will develop a shared vision and action plan for the development of telehealthcare Scotland. Representatives from Scottish government, health boards, local authorities and patient groups will sit alongside Scottish companies and multinationals.

Parallel Sessions: Delegates will be able to choose from the following options in both parallel sessions I and II.
1.0 Workshop: “How can we design telehealthcare services which help change the behaviour of users? Hosted by Prof. Alastair Macdonald (Glasgow School of Art) - Opportunities for a more preventative, humanised service approach to foster better behaviour aimed at improving (lifelong) health and wellbeing.
2.0 Workshop: Clinical emergencies in remote places - potential roles for technology: Prof Dave Godden, and Dr Mike Langran, & Alasdair Mort (NHS Highland and Centre for Rural Health). This workshop will provide insight into opportunities for distance technologies to assist medical professionals dealing with emergency situations in the field.
