We would like to invite you to our Public Open Day
Who are we?
The WTCRF has been specifically designed and equipped to enable researchers (doctors, nurses, etc.) to carry out clinical research studies involving humans, Clinical research is research where observations and measurements are made involving patients and healthy volunteers.
Public Open Day - Clinical Research: What does it mean to you?
Our Public Open Day gives you an opportunity to learn about and take part in our interactive stands from a range of different research topics. Including: Diabetes, Stroke, Mental Health, Medicines for Children, Genetics (Generation Scotland), Experimental Cancer Medicine, Lothian Birth Cohort Study, Imaging, Telescot Programme and more!
There will also be an opportunity to talk to members of our Clinical Research Facility (CRF) staff to find out about how they got into their research role and what they do within our CRF.
Dr Mark Strachan, Consultant Physician in Diabetes & Endocrinology will be presenting a talk at 10.30am.
Professor Ian Deary from the Lothian Birth Cohort Study will be presenting a talk at 2.15pm.
