Event Description

BioWales 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the international life sciences event, the brokerage section of the event will allow you to find out more about the sector in Europe.

BioWales 2012 will feature:

  • An unparalleled conference programme with world-class guest speakers, researchers and companies
  • A brokerage event with pre-arranged, one-to-one meetings to discuss potential collaboration projects
  • An exhibition and networking opportunities to share ideas and promote your company profile
  • Gala dinner with amazing entertainment and great speakers

The programme is designed for bioscience industry professionals and academics seeking licensing and business development opportunities or simply networking to create new connections. BioWales 2012 offers an opportunity to showcase your business, learn about the latest trends and developments in the sector and make valuable connections.

The themes this year will showcase the Welsh Government's commitment to support Innovation, Translation and Commercialisation, in particular the focus on attracting private finance and experienced investors, and on finding, creating and supporting entrepreneurs who have the skills and appetite to commercialise research and grow businesses. The event aims to provide opportunities to inspire and to drive ambition and success, and demonstrate that Wales is a key location for Life Sciences research and enterprise.

Conference and Brokerage sessions will be separate this year to enable everyone to fully participate in both.
Brokerage
The brokerage at BioWales features one-to-one technology meetings to enable you to network in the most structured way – to investigate new business opportunities, build contacts and discuss potential collaborations, licensing and manufacturing deals in 550 brokerage meetings that will generate £2.5m of investment over the two day event.

Companies, academics and the NHS have the opportunity to:

  • Identify new technologies or promote your own technology
  • Identify new collaborative partners for R&D proposals
  • Network and find new business partners to develop your ideas
  • Meet companies, academics and the NHS from Wales, UK and Europe
  • Promote your know-how and expertise
  • Discover more about the life science sector in Wales, UK and Europe
